ELISE 500 has finished among five finalists in the Manufacturers’ Innovation: Plant & Equipment category at the World Demolition Awards 2026 in Madrid.
The category was not focused on electric equipment or sustainability. ELISE 500 was judged as an innovation for the demolition industry itself. It competed alongside equipment and technologies from CASE Construction Equipment, Kobelco Construction Machinery, P Olesen & Sønner and Rusch Cranes.
That distinction matters.
ELISE 500 was developed around a real application from the very beginning. Developing a fully electric machine gave our engineers the freedom to start with the job itself. Not with conventional diesel components.
The result is an even smaller and more compact machine. It still keeps the capability required for real work. It is built for places where conventional equipment can simply be too big.
The 2026 award in the category went to P Olesen & Sønner with its Mobile Brick Cleaning Machine. We congratulate their team on the win.
The global demolition industry meets in Madrid
The World Demolition Awards were the closing highlight of the World Demolition Summit 2T026, held from 3 to 5 November at the Novotel Madrid Center.
The Summit is now in its 18th year. It was created and organized by Demolition & Recycling International and its publisher KHL Group, in partnership with the European Demolition Association and with support from the National Demolition Association.
The event brings together demolition contractors, equipment manufacturers, engineers and other industry specialists from around the world. More than 400 senior decision makers, business leaders and technical experts were expected in Madrid this year.
Its scale has grown significantly since the first edition in 2009. The 2025 Summit in Nashville was the largest to date. It attracted 540 delegates from 21 countries and 179 companies.
This year’s conference focused on real demolition projects and working methods. Topics included safety, recycling, material recovery, sustainability and new technologies. The programme also covered robotics and AI, circular demolition and some of the most challenging demolition projects carried out around the world.
Major equipment manufacturers are also closely involved in the event. The 2026 Summit was supported by companies including Volvo Construction Equipment, Komatsu, Steelwrist, Caterpillar and Kobelco.
For FIRSTGREEN, reaching the final five is important for another reason. It places a compact electric loader directly alongside established demolition equipment and technologies from some of the best known names in the industry.
ELISE 500 was not recognized simply because it is electric. It was recognized as a relevant innovation for demolition itself.
